The Kanya washing station in the Nyamasheke region of western Rwanda has been serving local cooperatives for several years now and the quality of the coffee that is being produced is exceptional. This Red Bourbon varietal in this lot is grown in the naturally rich volcanic soil between the Nyungwe Forest national park and Lake Kivu.
This is a fully washed coffee that offers a characteristically clean cup full of fruity and floral notes. Perfect for filter, the tasting notes for me are blueberry and orange with plenty of lingering natural sweetness.
